Forbes has released its annual list of the highest-paid models in 2016, and there continues to be no change in the top spot, with Gisele Bündchen still millions ahead of the pack.
The 36-year-old model takes number one with her earnings of USD$30.5 million for the year ending June 2016. To put it in perspective, Bündchen has made USD$20 million more than second place title holder Adriana Lima, who clocked in at USD$10.5 million.
This marks the 14th year in a row that Gisele has taken the throne, making more money than any other model since 2002.
Kendall Jenner has landed in third place, tying with Karlie Kloss on $USD10 million.
Gigi Hadid is a notable newcomer, at $USD9 million she is the fifth-highest-earning model, likely making the list due to her large social following who she promoted campaigns like Tommy Hilfiger and Maybelline to. Hadid ties with Rosie Huntington-Whiteley.
Yet again, there is a clear correlation between making this list and being involved with the Victoria’s Secret brand. According to Forbes, the list’s newbies include three Victoria’s Secret models: Lily Aldridge, Jasmine Tookes and Taylor Hill.
In fact, Victoria’s Secret Angels make up 30 percent of the highest-paid models list, due in part to their lucrative contracts.
With Bündchen now technically retired, 2017 might be the year to watch the throne carefully for a change in the top spot. Probably not, though. See the full list here.
