The summer countdown has officially begun and that means it’s time for a new swimsuit, cover up and accessories.
You’ll notice that there is some trickle down from the larger ready-to-wear themes for Summer 2019. Animal print and ruffles make an appearance, just as they did on the runways. The 80's influence continues as well, with vintage-inspired silhouettes “think high-cut legs and underwire bra tops.”
This season has also seeing a rise in popularity of smocked textures, as well as swimsuits linked with metal ring details or belted at the waist, plus shimmering metallic fabrics that will rival the sun with their shine.

1. Underwire Tops
Last year was all about sports bra tank tops. This season, it’s about structured underwire tops. It’s a great style for bigger-busted women especially, who appreciate a little extra support in their swim tops.
2. High Cut Legs
Embrace the ‘80s with an ultra-leggy look. French-cut bikini briefs and high-cut one-pieces have that sexy vintage vibe. High-cut styles are designed to elongate and lengthen and look amazing on almost all body shapes.
3. Rings & Hoops
For some added appeal, ring details reveal a little extra skin without going over the top. Metal hoops have a more modern feel, while plastic or tortoise connectors lend a subtle retro charm.
4. Knotted Details
Knotted pieces become more and more popular through the resort season. Adding knotted details to bikini tops and bottoms creates distinction, but also adds to the functionality of a silhouette.
5. This Seasons Colours
Yellow is a major colour trend for spring and summer. It looks great with or without a tan.
6. Sustainability
A trend we've seen gain momentum is sustainably produced swimwear. More swim labels are launching as entirely sustainably and ethically produced than ever before stemmed from our genuine love for the environment.
7. Leopard
After seeing leopard along with the other animal prints on the runways for several seasons, it's clear animal print is a seasonless trend, across all categories. Try a printed leopard piece and cut with a solid separate. If you're ready to dive in, go for a leopard one-piece and prepare yourself for compliments.
8. Double-Duty Resort Wear
Flexibility is the key, swim wear designed to be worn under skirts and pants to simplify a vacation wardrobe. The dresses and separates can easily go from cover-up to cocktails with the right accessories.
9. Retro
Retro 70’s in a big way. This can be seen in sweet peasant silhouettes, sporty tankini moments, and retro textured swimsuits. 2019 is about retro inspired prints and underwire swimsuit styles reinventing lingerie inspired beachwear. Embroidered delicate accents and flirty floral designs will elevate traditional swimwear.
10. Embroidery
Embroidery adds character and a fun element to any style, but especially to swim wear. All of the florals, solids, and leopard-print pieces are to be mixed and matched.
